Beginning in spring 2025, the Master of Global Affairs (MGA) will offer an applied International Learning Experience (ILE) for second-year MGA students in their final semester to acquire global perspectives on matters inherent to our Areas of Study: international security, international political development, and international political economy. The MGA offers these opportunities at no additional cost to students, except for personal incidentals.

Set against the backdrop of a city renowned for its pivotal role in global business and policy, students will explore key strategies for navigating partnerships between governments, corporations, and NGOs. Through immersive workshops, site visits to major policy institutions, and engaging discussions with experts, students will gain valuable insights into the evolving landscape of international collaboration. The program culminates in a bespoke negotiation simulation workshop, providing participants with hands-on experience in crafting solutions to contemporary policy challenges.
Eligibility
- Have completed three semesters in the Master of Global Affairs (minimum 27 credits) at Rice by the time the program begins.
- Be in good standing both academically and according to Rice’s Honor Council.
- Ability to participate in all pre-departure activities.
